The South African Casting Directory

Acronym: SACD

First appeared in July 1973, founded and published by Michael Brooke. Based on the example of the London publication The Spotlight, the first volume contained 182 entries. With the 1975/6 issue it had changed its name to The Limelight and contained 285 actors, 259 actresses as well as agents, casting directors, talent agencies, etc.

The Limelight Casting Directory

A casting directory for South Africa founded and published by Michael Brooke and The Limelight Press . Originally called the South African Casting Directory, and based on the example of the London publication The Spotlight, it first appeared in July 1973. For the in 1975/76 issue it changed its name to The Limelight. The first volume contained names, information and photographs of 182 professional performers. By 1981 it had information on 285 actors, 259 actresses as well as agents, casting directors, talent agencies, etc. The 2000 volume contained **** entries, and now has a internet-based version as well.
