The Isithatha Theatre is located at 12, 9th Avenue, Walmer, Port Elizabeth and is run by the Isithatha Trust which was initially sponsored by the National Lottery Commission but it is now sponsored by backabuddy.co.za. The Trust was the brainchild of Sharon Lother and Linda-Louise Swain. The theatre is suited for intimate audience groups and situated in a large old heritage house, set in spacious grounds, which has been converted into a theatre complete with the Gift Buqa Auditorium, (named after Gift Buqa a well-known local actor) and change rooms

Aims

The aim is to bring people together from different backgrounds who share a commitment to the arts.

Training

The Isithatha Trust runs a programme for playwrights, dancers, actors, administrative personnel, maintenance workers and publicists.
