Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

In his early years Walters dodid a fair amount of stage work. For example in 1959 he had a role in Our Town/Ons Dorp, played opposite Babs Laker in Hedda Gabler (CAPAB 1964) and portrayed "Armand" in Die Dame met die Kamelias, alongside opposite Berdine Grünewald (1966).

However, he is perhaps primarily known for his work in radio and TV. His first broadcasting job was on the Afrikaans radio service. As broadcaster he was a pioneer of both Radio Good Hope (in the 1960s) and Radio Port Natal. In 1979 he was appointed manager of SABC Enterprises.

With the arrival of TV, he was at one time a presenter of the nature programme 50/50 as well as doing dubbing work for SABC TV.

As a voice actor he appeared in countless radio dramas, as well as appearing in a few films, such as Eendag op 'n Reëndag, Tien oor Tien and Pressure Burst and was a guest actor in the television series Willem.
