Institute
The term the Institute often occurs as a reference to a venue for theatrical and other presentations and performances, and usually refers to some kind of educational establishment founded to provide adult education, particularly in technical subjects, to working men.
There have been numerous such (and related) intitutions across the globe over the years, and in South Africa they include the Mechanic's Institute, the Young Men's Institutes, the Young Women's Institutes, and the Railway Institutes.
