His career in Engliand included Co-ordinator for Community Photography Project (1977), Lecturing and Teaching Part–time (1978-1980) at inter alia Hulme Community Education Centre, South Trafford College, North Trafford College, Tameside College and Moss Side Community Education Centre

His contribution to South African arts and culture

For several years was the director of the Community Arts Project (CAP), later co-director of Arts and Media Access Centre (AMAC).

Founder member and Director of ZAG Consults in 2007.

Co-Director of Cape Town Community Television (2015-2017)

While with AMAC he edited the monograph Inheriting the flame: new writing on community arts in South Africa. Cape Town: Arts and Media Access Centre (AMAC), 2004.

His voluntary work over the years included being a member of the Acquisitions Committee Iziko SANG, the Treasurer Cwesi Community Learning Centre Wynberg, a Board Member of Greatmore Studios Woodstock, the Chairperson for Community Arts and Culture Centres Federation of the Western Cape
