Written in Cape Dutch, published in Amsterdam as De Koekdief in 1904.
Later published in Afrikaans as Die Koekdief by De Bussy in the series Die Suidafrikaanse Toneel, no. 7 (1921)

1909: Performed as Di Koekdief by Aurora III as their first production in the ANV Saal, Cape Town, on 3 August, with the dialogue De Oude en De Nieuwe Tijd and the operetta Kluchtige Gerechtszitting.
