Biography
His areas of expertise include Japanese theatre, African theatre, Shakespeare, Greek tragedy, stage combat and comedy and as a writer works on theatre history and criticism, world theatre and film.
He is the editor of ten books, including co-editor (with Patrick Lonergan) of Bloomsbury Methuen Drama's Critical Companions series, and the series editor of: "A Critical Companion to the American Stage Musical", volume editor of "The Methuen Drama Anthology of Modern Asian Plays" and "Modern Asian Theatre and Performance 1900-2000".
