Charles H. Butcher

(b. **/**/**** - d. **/**/****). Actor. C.H. Butcher is an as yet not clearly identified actor who played the part of Joseph Atkinson, soldier-servant to the character of Jack Meredith, played by Charles Sparrow, in Joseph Albrecht’s film version of Henry Seton Merriman’s novel With Edged Tools (1919). Interestingly, a year earlier an actor by the name of H.C. Butcher acted in Albrecht’s The Voice of the Waters (1918). Both roles required a young man of about 30 and the odds are that this was the same person. In which case he was probably born around 1890. (FO)
