South African Scriptwriters' Association
The South African Scriptwriters' Association (SASWA) was an association originally formed for working scriptwriters.
The Association
Formed in 1974 with the sole purpose of assisting, protecting and promoting scriptwriters in the local film, television industry and new media.
The Guild
The ambit of SASWA was later enlarged and renamed The Writers' Guild of South Africa (WGSA), to also encompass other genre's such as theatre.
