Die Uurwerk Kantel ("The Clockwork Tilts") is an Afrikaans one-act play by Juanita Swanepoel, based on the novel of the same name by Marié Heese.

The original text

Die Uurwerk Kantel is an Afrikaans novel by Marié Heese published in 1976 by Tafelberg Publishers. It deals with the personal memories of an elderly Afrikaans woman who looks back over her life and the political events that formed the background to the lives of ordinary people in South Africa, such as herself. It consists of memories that stretch back over four generations of her family.
