The Commercial Exchange, Cape Town
This building was originally built as a **** in 1816 (1819?), the foundation stone being laid by Sir Charles Somerset.
Its halls (rooms) were often used for theatrical and musical presentations by T.P. Hill, Mrs Greig, .
In the period 1855-18** it housed the Drawing Room Theatre of Sefton Parry and was the site of/venue for?? the later Opera House (189*-19**).
Performances
The Harper-Leffler Company performed six concerts of opera selections in the Commercial Exchange and the Mutual Hall, Cape Town from 5 August - 9 September 1868.
