Alpha Beta

Alpha Beta by British playwright E.A. Whitehead. The play is a study of collapsing marriage, spaced over nine years and running from an ingrained routine of rows and sexual frustration to the man's miserable compromise as a Sunday daddy.

Performance history in South Africa

Described as “… a savage, vicious modern play” by Brian Astbury, it was first performed in South Africa at The Space (Cape Town) in 1973 , directed by David Muir with Yvonne Bryceland as Norma Elliot and Percy Sieff as Frank Elliot. Sound by Angelo Iatrou, lighting by David Muir and stage manager Bee Berman.
