He apparently obtained the African Theatre for two (unspecified) nights in 1854, to put on Macbeth with the mariners of Simonstown, under the patronage of the Lt. Governor. Probably the same Caoptain Nightingale who apparently appeared "in character" as "Macbeth" in an evening's entertainment put on by
