The Tragedy of Nan
The Tragedy of Nan, also known as Nan, first produced in 1908. A play by English poet and writer John Masefield (1875-1967). It is set in 1810 on a small tenant farm in a village by the river Severn where Nan lives with her uncle and his wife. Her father was hanged for stealing a sheep but tonight there is to be a party and the possibility of love is in the air. Presented by the Arnold Reynor Repertory Company in the Cathedral Hall, Cape Town, 1945. With Carol Ryker, Carter Ebrahim, José Borez.
