Craig Higginson (1971- ) is a Zimbabwe-born South African playwright, theatre director, novelist and lecturer.

Biography

He grew up in Johannesburg and studied at Wits University.

His plays have been performed and produced at the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Trafalgar Studios, Theatre 503 and the Finborough Theatre (all London), the Traverse Theatre (Edinburgh), the Sadsteater (Stockholm), Salisbury Theatre, the Citizens Theatre (Glasgow), Live Theatre (Newcastle), Next Theatre (Chicago), the Market Theatre (Johannesburg and several other theatres and festivals around the world.

Novels include: The Hill (2005); Last Summer (2010); The Landscape Painter (2011); The Dream House (2015).

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Plays include: Dream of the Dog (2007); The Girl in the Yellow Dress (2010); The Table (co-author, 2011); An adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book (2011): Little Foot (2012);

The collection Three Plays (containing : Dream of the Dog, The Girl in the Yellow Dress, The Imagined Land) was published by Wits University Press in 2016.
