September 5, 1947: The Eastern Province and Border National Play Festival was held in East London at the ???. The adjudicators were Mme. Tamara Samsonov and Alan Warner. [[The winning play was the East London Technical College's production of Borrowed Likeness, produced by Mary Howe. Starring George Howe, Peggy Beamish and Tods Hatchard.
