How Graham Weir Accidentally Managed to Stay Alive by Graham Weir (1959-2020).

Posters and programmes often give the title as: how GRAHAM WEIR has accidently managed to stay aLIVE

A musical piece in which Graham sings mostly his own original songs and tells bizarre and wonderful stories that give us an insight into his life so far.

Extracts from the play were published by Graham Weir in a book (also) entitled how GRAHAM WEIR has accidently managed to stay aLIVE, launched at the Grahamstown Festival in 2002. Besides extracts from the play How Graham Weir Accidentally Managed to Stay Alive, the volume also includes the scripts of Psychodelic Cowboy and Sister Nun, Letters from Patient Essop, Tales From The Dark Corner, Brief Descriptions and some of his short stories.


2002: First presented by Weir as a one-off performance at The Warehouse, Greenpoint, Cape Town, on Sunday 23 June, Directed by Megan Choritz and accompanied by musician Sven Goldin.

2002: Performed at the Grahamstown Festival in July.

2005: Performed at the Kalk Bay Theatre
