David Phetoe
David Phetoe (1934?-2018) was an actor and director.

Biography
He died in Johannesburg on 1 February, 2018.
His contribution to South African theatre, film and media
He was part of Johannesburg’s vibrant black cultural scene in the 1950s and his career began at the famous Dorkay House in the heart of Johannesburg. In 1959 appeared in Athol Fugard’s Nongogo at the Bantu Men's Social Centre . He later also appeared in Waiting for Godot, The Tempest, The Death of Bessie Smith, King Kong, Of Mice and Men, Marat/Sade.
His TV work included roles in Generations and 'Sgudi 'Snaysi, Velaphi, Going Up, and Imvelaphi.
Films include the South African-American Cry, The Beloved Country.
