A one man play, it was first published in 1886, but best known in the revised 1902 version.

Translated into English as The Harmful Effects of Tobacco, first published by Ecco Press in The Unknown Chekhov (1954). Also found as On the Harmful Effects of Tobacco and On the Harm of Tobacco.
