Onskuldig Veroordeel

Onskuldig Veroordeel (lit "Innocently Sentenced"), said on the programme to be by Bayard Veiller. A hugely popular detective play in Afrikaans, performed by Hendrik Hanekom's Afrikaanse Toneelgeselskap in 1929. Wena Naudé in the female lead is billed as "the Mary Pickford of South Africa". (Binge suggests the play may actually be Within the Law by **, with which by Freda Godfrey was toured South Africa in 1925. A film of the same name was shown in 1927.)

Onskuldig Veroordeel by American playwright, screenwriter, producer and film director Bayard Veiller (1869-1943) [1], produced by Hendrik Hanekom's company. Siegfried Mynhardt started his career as actor in this play in 1929.
