The Innocents is a play written by William Archibald [1] (1917-1970) based on the novel The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. The play premiered on Broadway in 1950.

A Brian Brooke Company production was produced by Gwen ffrangçon-Davies starring herself and Marda Vanne in 1953 at the Hofmeyr Theatre in Cape Town and subsequently at the Alhambra Theatre in Durban for African Theatres.
