Produced in Afrikaans as Oupa Brompie ("Grandfather Grumpy") by NTO in 1950, directed by Marda Vanne and featuring Hendrik Hanekom (Oupa Brompie) in a star turn and supported by Pikkie van Niekerk (Susan), Japie van Niekerk (Mnr Jurgens), Gerrit Wessels (Willem Combrink), Michal Grobbelaar (Wolf en Dr Malherbe), Mathilde Hanekom (Tant Ria Mostert), Erna Eksteen (Marieka Brummer) and Laurie van der Merwe (Mnr Ernest Heyman).
