A play based on a novel by James Kirkwood, Jr., original published in 1972, adapted from his play. The book and play were later adapted to film. After five previews, the Broadway production, directed by Vivian Matalon, opened on April 7, 1975 at the John Golden Theatre, where it ran for 16 performances.
First produced in South Africa in 1978 by Pieter Toerien, directed by Dennis Bruto.
