P.S. Your Cat is Dead! is a play by James Kirkwood, Jr.

The original text

Based on a novel by James Kirkwood, Jr., originally published in 1972, adapted from his play. The book and play were later adapted to film. After five previews, the Broadway production, directed by Vivian Matalon, opened on April 7, 1975 at the John Golden Theatre, where it ran for 16 performances.

The play has been translated into various languages (e.g. Spanish and German) and has been adapted for film in 2002[1]

Performance History in South Africa

1978: First produced in South Africa by Pieter Toerien, directed by Dennis Breto. The cast: Anthony Daniels, Dorothy-Ann Gould, John Fraser, David Sherwood.

1984: Directed by Yvonne Copley for S.O.E. Productions, performed in the Baxter Studio. The cast: Tony Stiglingh, Chris Buchanan, Janine Dennison, Alistair Duff.
