Grin and Bare It! is a one act play by Ken McQuire, adapted from a 1929 play by Tom Cushing.

The original text

The original Cushing work was set in Southern California in 1929, and dealt with a family of nudists whose daughter brings home her proper Bostonian fiancé. The play was written in the 1920's but was never commercially produced.

In 1970 it was adapted as a one-act farce (subtitled "The Unplayable Play") by Ken McQuire, and opened on March 16, 1970 at the Belasco Theatre, New York, NY.

Performance history in South Africa

1990: First performed at the Victory Theatre, directed by Rex Garner in 1990.

1991: Performed at the Baxter Theatre on 9 January 1991 starring Gordon Mulholland, Eddie Eckstein, Tim Plewman, Mike Huff.
