Born in **, went to  high school at Tygerberg High in the Cape, taking drama classes and working on radio from her first high school years.

Obtained a B.A. Drama from the [[University of Stellenbosch]] in 19**.

Became an English teacher initially before working on radio, TV and stage as actress. She started her professional acting career  in ***. Her stage work also includes work for [[CAPAB]] (in Port Elizabeth), including ''[[The Merchant of Venice]]'' and ''[[Much Ado About Nothing]]''. She also did children's theatre there, being involved in setting up a company called [[Keedo]], and touring the region.
 
 
 
Moving to Cape Town she once more took up children's theatre and worked on festival productions for [[Spektrum Produksies]]*?, with i.a. [[Juanita Swanepoel]] and [[Joanie Combrink]], doing Afrikaans works such as  ''[[Dalk is ons almal so]]'', ''[[Die Uurwerk Kantel]]'' ([[Woordfees]] 2003), ''[[Drafstap of Drentel]]'', ''[[Susanna die Geliefde]]''.
 
 
 
A well known radio actress, she also did voice work (including TV dubbing) and was a presenter and newsreader for both [[Radio Algoa]] and [[Radio Sonder Grense]] over the years,  while her TV credits include an award-winning performance in the iconically successful ''[[Arende]]'', and roles in ''[[Onder Draai die Duiwel Rond]]'', ''[[Dennekruin 12]]'', ''[[Seders val in Lebanon]]'', ''[[Die man met 'n lyk om sy nek]]'', ''[[Jasper le Feuvre]]'', ''[[Samaritan]]'' and ''[[Beyond Return]]''. 
 
 
 
As a journalist she has written articles for most Afrikaans journals, and and from 2001 she had a regular column in ''Die Burger'', interviewing prominent people in the arts commuity. She joined the [[University of Stellenbosch Drama Department]] as a part-time lecturer in acting in 2001.
