Gerhard Marx (1976- ) [1] is a South African artist, theatre and film designer.
He has been the designer for productions of William Kentridge and the Handspring Puppet Company, Tshepang (2003), Lara Foot's Othello (2023-4)
As a playwright he has written theatre pieces like They Say and Hear and Now.
His fiilm work has included co-directing Tshepang (the film).
He lectures at the University of the Witwatersrand.
He has been a fellow of the Eckhart Residency, the Sundance Film Institute, the Annenberg Fund and the Ampersand Foundation;
