The Mercury Durban Theatre Awards are a set of annual theatre awards sponsored by The Mercury newspaper.

The awards

Originally known simply as the Durban Theatre Awards, they were established circa 2003 to recognise and reward theatre work in the city of Durban. When the local newspaper, The Mercury, became its media sponsor, the name was changed to
