Born in Johannesburg and educated at Johannesburg Girls' High School. Completed a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Philosophy at University of the Witwatersrand.
Worked in social welfare and education.
Author of Cradle in the Dust, which won first prize in the FATSSA one-act playwriting competition in 1947 and was published in 1949.
