Doreen Mantle (1926-) is an actress.

Biography

Born in Johannesburg on 22 June 1926, , she studied at the University of Witwatersrand.

She


She moved to London in 1953 with her husband, Mr Graham-Smith.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She had roles in Pop Goes the Queen (1945-6), Peer Gynt (1946), The Witch (1948), Hassan (1950), Grand National Night (1950), Desire under the Elms (1951), Tartuffe (as Elmire, 1952), The Young Elizabeth (1953).

She became Chairman of the Johannesburg Reps.

Awards, etc.

Doreen won the award for Best Supporting Actress of the Year in 1979 for her role as Willie Loman's wife in Death of a Salesman running at the National Theatre in London.
