John Daniel Kestell (1854-1941) was a theologian, pastor and playwright.
Biography
He was later known as Vader (Father) Kestell, theologian and pastor, devoted military chaplain to the Boer forces in the Anglo-Boer War.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Wrote a five act play entitled The Struggle for Freedom using the pseudonym Leinad (1881).
