An Empty Stocking is a play in one act by Fred Wright Jr (1871-1928)[1].
A play about a father, his deserted daughter and an impecunious author. Opened in The Strand Theatre, London on 18 May, 1898.
1899: Performed in the Theatre Royal, Durban, on 19 December by a visiting company led by Charles Arnold (referred to as Charles Arnold's English Comedy Company in some sources), as a double bill with What Happened to Jones (Broadhurst).
1900: The double bill performed by Charles Arnold's English Comedy Company in the Opera House Cape Town on 20 January.
