Retief Gewroken ("Retief avenged") is a locally written play in Dutch by H.W. Teengs (fl. 1860-1890).

The original text

Based on a historical event[1], it is a follow up piece to Teeng's earlier work De Moord van Dingaan aan Pieter Retief ("Dingaan's murder of Pieter Retief"), dealing with the same set of events. The play was written for and performed by Aurora|Aurora II]] and very popular, but the text was never published.
