Performance history in South Africa
1860: Performed on 29 March by the Cape Town Dramatic Club, partly in association with Sefton Parry, followed by the travesty Shylock, or The Merchant of Venice Preserved (Talfourd). The brass band of the Cape Royal Rifles also performed.
1862: Performed by the Cape Town and Royal Alfred Dramatic Club in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town on 2 and 9 September, with an operetta called No!!! (D.L.), and a song by Mr Beverley.
