Popcorn can refer to two theatrical works which have been produced in South Africa:

Popcorn, by Pieter-Dirk Uys

Directed by Pieter-Dirk Uys as a lunch-hour presentation for The Space (Cape Town) in 1973, with Paddy Canavan, Val de Klerk, Bill Flynn and Peter Piccolo.

Popcorn, by Ben Elton

Popcorn is a black comedy by British playwright Ben Elton, best known for the Blackadder series. The play, taking a penetrating look at the absurd values of Hollywood, is about a day in the life of Bruce Delamitri, a film director nominated for an Oscar.

Performance history in South Africa

1998: Staged in the Tesson Theatre at the Civic Theatre, Johannesburg, directed by Dawn Lindberg in March 1998, featuring Sean Taylor, Michele Maxwell, Shelley Meskin, Anthony Fridjhon, Nick Boraine, Amanda Lane, Lucinda Hooley, Catherine Daymond and David Webb. Decor by Stan Knight, sound by Des Lindberg. The same production was staged in the Baxter Theatre in February 1999 and again in the Tesson Theatre at The Civic in March 1999, with Sean Taylor, Nick Boraine, Amanda Lane, Russel Savadier, Nicole Abel, Ann Stradi, Lucinda Hooley and Helen Desbois.

2000: Presented by Kickstart in 2000, directed by Greg King, starring Michael Gritten, Belinda Henwood, Catherine Farren, Belinda Harwood, costume and sets by Greg King.

2007: Opened 25 May 2007 at the Tesson Theatre, Johannesburg, starring Kim Engelbrecht and Carl Beukes.
