Shelley Meskin (19**-). Actor, singer, dancer, writer.

Training

She graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a B.A.D.A. (Hons) in 1996 and has been working in the industry ever since. She has taken various master classes both in SA and abroad. She has had 10 years of vocal training in light music and 18 years of dance training in contemporary and tap.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Her theatre credits include Fame-The Musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cinders and her Fella, Popcorn (1998), the acclaimed original play Peeling Oranges which she co-wrote with her director and fellow actors (1998), Echoes of the Night, Honour (as "Sopie", 2004), Shakers, Robin's A Cruise-Ou and The Travellers (Laager 2006).

Shelley is also involved in a variety of corporate theatre pieces spanning for live theatrical performances to recorded re-enactments on video etc. as well as being a successful voice over artist.'

Film and television

Her film credits include Red Tide a Nu World Production and Hey Boy (Brave Films). She was also the lead in the Award Winning movie, Jerusalema (2008).

Her television credits span from presenting work such as Kideo and Limits Unlimited to sitcoms (Suburban Bliss), soap opera (Egoli) to serious dramas (Justice for All and Yizo Yizo 3).

Awards, etc

She has been nominated for several awards and had been part of many plays and musicals that have won various awards. Among those nominations was for best female lead in a musical for Fame-The Musical at the Naledi Awards.
