Grant Powell (19*-) Actor, playwright and film stuntman.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He starred in Duimpie en Sy Maats Vat Vyf! at the KKNK 2003 and Voorbrandfees 2004, Angels Everywhere, which was directed by Oscar Petersen and staged at the Baxter Theatre Centre in 2005. He was last seen on the Baxter's stage when he performed in the PlayGround performed reading and the production of Shirley, Goodness and Mercy (Baxter Theatre and Market Theatre, 2007),
He has written and performed many children's productions under the direction of Fred Abrahamse, Keith Anderson and Craig Leo, to name a few.
Grant's work as a stunt artist has taken him all over South Africa and beyond. He appeared in Tickey's Fantastic Circus Adventure at the Artscape Arena in 2005. Grant is a seasoned film stuntman, having worked in numerous films, including A Boy Called Twist, The Flyer, Dollars and White Pipes and Mama Jack.
Grant, together with actor Vernon Willemse, manages an events company called Spyderparties which specialises in children's birthday parties and corporate occasions.
