Anti-apartheid (also found as Anti Apartheid) is a general term that after 1948 came to refer to the general opposition to the discriminatory racial philosophies, activities and regimes that dominated South Africa from colonial times.
The term was really established internationally by what became known as the Anti-Apartheid Movement (AAM)[1], which involved a number of people, movements, activities and attitudes that were opposed South African apartheid.
The term has since become universal and is used more generally and widely to refer to any oppositional stance or activity regarding racial discrimination. Thus one might refer to someone's "anti-apartheid attititude" or an "anti-apartheid novel, film or play".
