The Wynand Mouton Theatre, is one of the venues used by the University of the Free State Drama Department and is situated on their campus. Built by the University and run by , and largely utilized by, the Drama Department. At the time regarded as best equipped university theatre in South Africa, it contains a flying gallery, an equal-to-size back stage, 2 mechanical decor trolleys, orchestra pit and 330 seats.

The theatre was opened on Thursday October 13 1983 with a production in Afrikaans of Hamlet (translated by **). Playwrights who have had new work premiered here include Pieter Fourie and Nico Luwes. The 1820 Settlers Foundation annually has its High School Festival here, as do the ATKV (?*).
