Die Plaasvervangers ("The Substitutes") is a political play by Pieter Fourie (1940-).

1978: First performed by CAPAB in the Nico Malan Theatre, opening in December of that year. Directed by Pieter Fourie, with Anna Neethling-Pohl as Die Kampmoeder, Anna Cloete, Pieter Bredenkamp, Pieter Geldenhuys, Christo Pienaar, Willem de la Querra, Mees Xteen, Johan Botha, Marko van der Colff, Paul Slabolepszy, André Rossouw. It opened 1978 starringThe production led to a warning from the Administrator (L.A.P.A. Munnik) that the Cape Performing Arts Board would lose its subsidy if it continued doing such plays.
