The Rose of Arragon is a verse play in five acts by James Sheridan Knowles (1784 - 1862)[1].

The original text

First performed at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket on 4 June, 1842. Published by Edward Moxon in 1842.

Performance history in South Africa

1850 Performed by the Garrison Amateur Players on 31 July , with The Practical Man (Bernard). Repeated on 9 August with Shocking Events (Hall/Buckstone?) as afterpiece.
