Wrote The Corn is Green and Night Must Fall, André Huguenet’s first English plays, 1940.
Also The Late Christopher Bean, performed by the REPS in 1942; The Wind of Heaven, performed by Gwen ffrangçon-Davies / Marda Vanne Company, 1946, starring Tom MacDonald, Gwen ffrangçon-Davies, together with Zoe Randall, Wensley Pithey and Sid James.
Brian Brooke brought him to South Africa to perform his one man show Charles Dickens at the Wits University Great Hall in September 1954. Brian Brooke brought Emlyn Williams back in December 1956 with Dylan Thomas: A Boy Growing Up.
His son, Brook, guest-starred in Peter Shaffer’s Five Finger Exercise, which was staged at the Brooke Theatre in 1959. His The Corn is Green was staged by Leonard Schach in 1962. It starred Dame Flora Robson and Brook Williams.
He once more brought his Charles Dickens production to the Market Theatre in 1981.
