Performance history in South Africa

1956: Performed by K.A.T. in October 1956, directed by Robert Mohr.

1964: Performed as CAPAB's first production of an indigenous play at the Hofmeyr Theatre on 22 August 1964. Directed by Ria le Roux, the wife of Prof Fred le Roux, and an actress in her own right under her maiden name, Ria Olivier. There were 28 performances at 15 venues including Saldanha, Malmesbury, Robertson, Piketberg and Clanwilliam. It was seen by 7 516 people. Fred le Roux played the part of Van der Heiden, Paul Malherbe that of Van der Stel. Others in the cast were Magdalena Swanevelder, Herman Steytler, Fanie Bekker, Johan Grobler, Jurie Hanekom, Bertie van der Merwe and André Rossouw.
