(b. **/**/1885? - d. 18/01/1923). Actor. George Arthur Leddra acted in at least two films for [[African Film Productions]]. In 1917 he had an unidentified role (credited as Geo. Ledra) in [[And Then ---]], directed by [[Dick Cruikshanks]] and [[Joseph Albrecht]], and the following year he played Pvt. Tommy Atkins, one of the Prince Imperial's bodyguards in [[The Symbol of Sacrifice]], also directed by Cruikshanks. According to his gravestone in the Stellawood Cemetery in Durban he died in an accident while in the employ of AFP, possibly during the filming of [[The Reef of Stars]]. He was survived by his wife, Kathleen Isabella Leddra. He may have served in the South African Constabulary and was discharged in 1906 "due to reduction of establishment".
