Training
In 2002 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Honours) at the University of Witwatersrand. She played Juliet in the department's production of Romeo and Juliet directed by Malcolm Purkey in 2000; Helena in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream also directed by Malcolm Purkey; Mother Showman in Venus Hottentot directed by David Peimer, and performed at Wits, Goldsmiths London University and Bristol University in 2001.
Career
Quoted from programme notes of From Door to Door wherein she played the role of Deborah (Mary's daughter Age 13-49) in 2005: 'She has since taught Speech and Drama at a private studio at the Liberty Theatre on the Square to children of all ages. Caryn was one of thee who adjudicated the 2004 RAPS annual school's one act plays festival. She also has a theatre company - The Plastered Cast Theatre Co - which began in 2001 with two colleagues. They work in corporate, educational and straight theatre dealing with aspects from script writing through to directing and performance.'

Quoted from the From Door to Door programme notes: '2003 saw Caryn in two memorable stage performances: Shakers directed by Johnny Barbuzano at the Liberty Theatre - nominated for a Naledi - and Skin Deep directed by Bongani Linda performed at the Grahamstown Festival. Skin Deep returned in 2004 to the main stage of the Grahamstown Festival as well as the Market Theatre in August and September this year. Recent film work includes two short independent films Flutter Girl directed by Jose Vas and I'll see you just now directed by Johnny Barbuzano. Caryn was part of the cast of Mum's the Word at the Studio Theatre Montecasino, in 2004.'
