Biography
Born Johannes Jacobus Uys, became popularly known as Jamie Uys. Jamie Uys passed away on 29 January 1996, Johannesburg, South Africa from a heart attack.

Eventually he made 24 films, including the stage plays **, ** Other films include Dingaka (1964), Daar doer in die Bosveld, The Gods Must be Crazy (which enjoyed three years of uninterrupted screening in the United States of America and was a cult movie in Japan).
