A play based on a novel by James Kirkwood, Jr., originally published in 1972, adapted from his play. The book and play were later adapted to film. After five previews, the Broadway production, directed by Vivian Matalon, opened on April 7, 1975 at the John Golden Theatre, where it ran for 16 performances.
Performance History in South Africa
Directed by Yvonne Copley for S.O.E. Productions in 1984, performed in the Baxter Studio. The cast: Tony Stiglingh, Chris Buchanan, Janine Dennison, Alistair Duff.
First produced in South Africa in 1978 by Pieter Toerien, directed by Dennis Breto (Dennis Brite?). The cast: Anthony Daniels, Dorothy-Ann Gould, John Fraser, David Sherwood.
