HEYNS, Eugenie. Actress, and later the wife of [[Pierre de Wet]]. Starred in ''[[Romeo and Juliet]]'', which was performed in the [[Pretoria Opera House]] and the [[Wits Great Hall]] in 1949. It was produced by the [[Johannesburg Repertory Society|Reps]] to commemorate twenty one years of existance. It was directed by [[André van Gyseghem]], and also starred [[Leon Gluckman]], [[Muriel Alexander]] and [[Herbert Kretzmer]]. Her stage appearances included Skewe Straatjie (1945), with Jan Schutte and Gert van den Bergh; the female lead in Romeo and Juliet (1949) opposite Leon Gluckman, directed by André van Gyseghem and staged at the Wits University Great Hall and the Pretoria Opera House for the Johannesburg Repertory Players; and two small parts in Macbeth, with André Huguenet and Anna Neethling-Pohl for the Nasionale Toneelorganisasie (NTO).
