The Syndicate of African Artists was a organisation founded by Khabi Mngoma and Es'kia Mphahlele to promote the arts.

Founded in 1948 by Khabi Mngoma and Es'kia Mphahlele, the syndicate worked to promote the arts, notably music and theatre, throughout the fifties, a period when black South Africans were prohibited from going to most theatres, concert halls and other public venues in white areas.
