Hallo Suid-Afrika/Hello South Africa, a cabaret written in English and Afrikaans and composed by Casper de Vries.

The original text

Written and composed by Casper de Vries while a final year student at the Stellenbosch Drama Department, for performance at the National Arts Festival's Student Drama Festival in 1986.

Performance history in South Africa

1986: First presented at the National Arts Festival Student Drama, 1986. Directed by De Vries in the Baxter Theatre Concert Hall, September 1986, and the H.B. Thom Theatre 25 and 26 July 1986, starring himself with Linda Pienaar, Illse Roos, June van Merch, Jozua van der Lugt. Liza Geldenhuys, Christien Coetzee, Talita de Villiers, Pieter Heyns, Stephné Hough, Nicolaas le Roux and Mariette Schumann were the musicians for the Baxter and Stellenbosch productions.

Presented by PACT Drama (late 1986 and early 1987), directed by De Vries starring Elzabé Zietsman, June van Merch and Johan Engelbrecht at the Windybrow Theatre and the Momentum Theatre. The musicians were Didi Kriel, Trevor Muller and Lulu Gontsana.
